Robert says…

I met Andres while staying in Washington. DC is fairly small in comparison to the likes of New York or London so usually someone knows someone which is how we met.

Although his reputation took a knock towards the end of his life, what the legendary French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier said still holds true.

“Being a photographer is like being an athlete. You must practice every day.”

And so a quiet Sunday morning, Andres and I rendevous’d on a basketball court in the West End.

He wanted to experience what it’s like being in front of the camera and me enjoying the process. Both practising and both learning. What a pleasure.
